Important Notice:
If you have severe pain, heavy vaginal bleeding, sudden symptoms, or anything that could be an emergency, call 111 or 999 immediately. Routine cervical screening is not suitable for emergency symptoms.

About Our Smear Tests (Cervical Screening)
Smear testing checks the health of the cervix by assessing for high risk HPV and any abnormal or precancerous cell changes. Early detection allows timely treatment and significantly reduces the risk of cervical cancer.
Our clinic offers two levels of testing. Each includes a dedicated thirty minute appointment with one of our cervical screening clinicians. You will also receive a clear results letter explaining your findings and any next steps.
All laboratory analysis is processed by high quality diagnostic partners, registered with the CQC and based in the UK. This ensures accuracy and fast turnaround times. Most patients receive their results within a week.
We also welcome clients who want screening outside the routine five year interval used by the NHS.

Yes. If you have bleeding, pain, discharge, or concerns you may need both a smear test and a symptom review appointment.
Our laboratory partners use high sensitivity HPV screening and cytology assessment. This is equivalent or superior to nationally used testing standards.
It is recommended to attend when you are not bleeding as this improves sample accuracy. If you start bleeding and you are able to delay your smear test, please call us on 01623 575017.
