“Hay fever” refers to seasonal allergies (e.g., pollen), while “allergic rhinitis” includes year-round triggers (e.g., mould, dust). We treat both.
A steroid injection contains triamcinolone acetonide, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and suppresses the immune response causing your hay fever symptoms. It provides long-lasting relief by targeting the root cause of sneezing, congestion, and itchy eyes.
Most patients notice improvement within 24–48 hours, with full effects typically felt within 5–7 days. Results can last for several weeks or even the entire pollen season.
Yes, when administered by a qualified healthcare professional. We carefully assess your medical history to ensure it’s suitable for you. Side effects are rare but may include temporary redness at the injection site or mild fluid retention.
If symptoms recur, we may recommend a follow-up injection (after 4 weeks) or arrange for a clinical appointment to discuss alternative options.
We offer steroid injections, which provide rapid relief within 24–48 hours for severe hay fever. For milder cases, prescription antihistamines or nasal corticosteroids can ease symptoms like sneezing and itchy eyes.
If an injection is suitable for you, your initial consultation and first annual injection will cost £65.00. Any top up injections that may be required are £30.00.

Pre-Appointment Questionnaires
You will need to complete our medical questionnaire before your visit. This must be completed. You will receive this via email once your booking has been confirmed. If you experience any difficulties in completing this, please contact us.
Initial Consultation & Annual Treatment
Your initial consultation consists of discussing your medical and symptoms history. Should you be eligible to proceed, you’ll receive your first treatment during the appointment.
Top-Up Injections
While many patients experience significant relief after their initial treatment, some individuals – particulary those with a higher body mass index (BMI) – may require additional support to achieve full symptom resolution. Body weight can influence how medications are metabolised and distributed, meaning adjusted dosing may be required for effective symptom management.
If your symptoms persist or haven’t been fully resolved within 4 weeks of your first treatment, we recommend a follow-up to ensure sustained relief. This phased approach allows us to tailor your treatment safely and effectively, prioritising both your comfort and long-term outcomes.
